Fewer joints, and one hard line
A tub surround rebuilt in large-format marble-look panels with a black framed shower door.
Large panels mean a fraction of the grout of a small tile: less to seal on the day, less to clean every week, and far fewer joints for water to find later. The black frame on the door is the only hard line in the room, which is what stops a pale surround reading as bland — one strong element against quiet ones, rather than several competing.

What to look at, and why it was done that way.

01
Grout is the maintenance
Fewer joints is less sealing, less cleaning and fewer places for water to get behind the surface.

02
One strong element
The dark door frame is the room's only hard line. Adding a second would have cancelled it.
