A primary suite that finally looks at the view it was built for
A tiled walk-in shower with a bench and custom niche, and a soaking tub set into the window wall, joined by one continuous accent band.
The room had a view and was arranged as though it did not. The tub was moved into the window wall so that the thing you look at while you are in it is the foothills rather than a door, and the shower was rebuilt as a walk-in with a bench and a niche instead of a shelf hanging off the mixer. The glass accent band runs unbroken from the shower through to the tub surround, which is what stops the room reading as two separate halves that happen to share a floor. The cedar ceiling is carried across both for the same reason.

What to look at, and why it was done that way.
-
01
One band, two fixtures
The glass mosaic runs at a single height from the shower to the tub surround without a break or a change of level.
-
02
The bench is built, not bought
Framed and tiled as part of the shower rather than dropped in, so there is no joint along its back edge for water to sit in.
-
03
The ceiling ties the room together
Cedar plank carried across both halves at the same run, which is the second device holding a divided room as one.
