The floor went down before anything sat on it
Large-format floor tile laid and the drain set while the bathroom was still empty — photographed mid-installation.
This is the stage almost nobody photographs, and it is the stage that decides whether the room lasts. The tile is laid across the whole floor while the room is empty, so it runs unbroken beneath where the toilet and vanity will sit rather than being cut tightly around them. The flange is set to the finished floor height at this point, not shimmed up to it afterwards — which is the difference between a seal that lasts and one that weeps quietly into the subfloor.

What to look at, and why it was done that way.
-
01
Unbroken under the fixtures
The floor runs beneath the toilet and vanity rather than being cut around them, so there is no seam at their base.
-
02
Flange set to the finished height
Set level with the tile it sits in, not packed up to reach it afterwards.

03
Supplies capped, room empty
Nothing is fitted until the floor is down and cured. Working the other way round is faster on the day and worse for a decade.
